Scripture: Zechariah 3:1-5

1 Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right side to accuse him. 2 The Lord said to Satan, “The Lord rebuke you, Satan! The Lord, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebuke you! Is not this man a burning stick snatched from the fire?”3 Now Joshua was dressed in filthy clothes as he stood before the angel. 4 The angel said to those who were standing before him, “Take off his filthy clothes.” Then he said to Joshua, “See, I have taken away your sin, and I will put fine garments on you.”5 Then I said, “Put a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him, while the angel of the Lord stood by.

Hymn: “Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee” UMH #89

1. Joyful, joyful, we adore thee,
God of glory, Lord of love;
hearts unfold like flowers before thee,
opening to the sun above.
Melt the clouds of sin and sadness;
drive the dark of doubt away.
Giver of immortal gladness,
fill us with the light of day!

2. All thy works with joy surround thee,
earth and heaven reflect thy rays,
stars and angels sing around thee,
center of unbroken praise.
Field and forest, vale and mountain,
flowery meadow, flashing sea,
chanting bird and flowing fountain,
call us to rejoice in thee.

3. Thou art giving and forgiving,
ever blessing, ever blest,
well-spring of the joy of living,
ocean depth of happy rest!
Thou our Father, Christ our brother,
all who live in love are thine;
teach us how to love each other,
lift us to the joy divine.

4. Mortals, join the mighty chorus
which the morning stars began;
love divine is reigning o'er us,
binding all within its span.
Ever singing, march we onward,
victors in the midst of strife;
joyful music leads us sunward,
in the triumph song of life.

Worship Music: “The Power of Your Love”

Verse 1

Lord, I come to You, let my heart be changed, renewed,

Flowing from the grace that I found in You.

Lord, I’ve come to know the weaknesses I see in me

Will be stripped away by the power of Your love.

Chorus

Hold me close, let Your love surround me.

Bring me near, draw me to Your side.

And as I wait I’ll rise up like the eagle,

And I will soar with You, Your Spirit leads me on

In the power of Your love.

Verse 2

Lord, unveil my eyes, let me see You face to face,

The knowledge of Your love as You live in me.

Lord, renew my mind as Your will unfolds in my life;

In living every day by the power of Your love.

(Repeat Chorus 2x)

And I will soar with You, Your Spirit leads me on

In the power of Your love.

(Repeat)

Scripture: Galatians 2:15-20

15 “We who are Jews by birth and not sinful Gentiles 16 know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.17 “But if, in seeking to be justified in Christ, we Jews find ourselves also among the sinners, doesn’t that mean that Christ promotes sin? Absolutely not! 18 If I rebuild what I destroyed, then I really would be a lawbreaker.19 “For through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God. 20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Offering: “The Heart of Worship”

When the music fades, all is stripped away

And I simply come, longing just to bring

Something that's of worth That will bless Your heart

I'll bring you more than a song, for a song in itself

Is not what You have required

You search much deeper within, through the way things appear

you're looking into my heart.

I'm coming back to the heart of worship, and it's all about You

It's all about You, Jesus.

I'm sorry Lord, for the thing I've made it, when it's all about you

It's all about You, Jesus

King of endless worth, no one could express how much You deserve

Though I'm weak and poor, all I have is yours every single breath

I'll bring you more than a song, for a song in itself

Is not what You have required

You search much deeper within, through the way things appear

you're looking into my heart.

I'm coming back to the heart of worship, and it's all about You

It's all about You, Jesus.

I'm sorry Lord, for the thing I've made it, when it's all about you

It's all about You, Jesus

The Lord’s prayer

Worship Music: “Grace Like Rain”

Verse 1

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now I'm found
Was blind but now I see so clearly

Chorus

Hallelujah, grace like rain falls down on me

Hallelujah, all my stains are washed away, they’re washed away

Verse 2

'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed

Repeat Chorus 2x

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:16-21

16 So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Sermon: “Our Doctrine Part 5: Justification and Regeneration”

Benediction

Closing Chorus: “Come to the Cross”

[Verse 1]

Mourner, wherever you are,

Wherever you are, at the cross there is room

Tell your burdened heart,

Your burdened heart at the cross, there is room.

Tell it in the Savior’s ear,

Cast away your every fear.

Only speak and He will hear.

[Chorus]

Hallellujah, everyone,

Everyone can come to the cross.

It doesn’t matter what you’ve done.

Everyone can come to the cross.

[Verse 2]

Sinner, come today

Come today, at the cross there is room.

Blessed thought for everyone

For everyone can come to the cross.

Now a living fountain see,

Open there for you and me,

For rich and poor, for bond and free.

Repeat Chorus

Tell it in the Savior’s ear,

Cast away your every fear.

Only speak and He will hear.

Hallellujah, everyone,

Everyone can come to the cross.

I say it doesn’t matter, what you’ve done.

Everyone can come to the cross.

Everyone can come to the cross.

Everyone can come to the cross.

See you next week!

God bless you!
