A Facebook post from long-time JW'er Aaron Long...

Hi, All!
It was a real treat to be in the sanctuary at JW two Sundays ago, and to pray for our community. This summer, my family had our first child (a daughter, Beatrice!) and we've been thinking a lot about returning on Sunday morning. Since she's small, we probably won't see you around JW just yet. But I have to say, when I was there recently, I was totally impressed by how carefully JW staff have thought out COVID precautions. If you have the opportunity to return, thank a staff member--they've worked really hard to make that possible.
If you're still staying home, it's tempting to skip the service some weeks or to catch it after it happened. We went through some of that early this past summer, but realized that skipping the service plus being always connected to work was distorting our sense of the week's rhythm. Has me thinking about sabbath--"Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy," God told Moses. I've always thought about that in terms of honoring God, but the pandemic's made it clear that it was also about "living in the rhythm of His kingdom," living in the rhythm we're made to live in. We need that rhythm when we aren't in it, and it's good for us when we are.
So from our house to yours, we wish that for all of you!
Missing you all,
Aaron
