From the Desk of Bishop Webb: What the Oct. 3 session of Annual Conference will look like
A Message from Bishop Mark J Webb
As you are aware, earlier this year, the Upper New York Conference postponed Annual Conference with the hope of gathering together on Saturday, Oct. 3. The ongoing realities of COVID-19 and our commitment to the safety of those who will be a part of that gathering, have caused us to change these plans.
On Friday July 17, Upper New York (UNY) Area Resident Bishop Mark J. Webb, sent an important video announcement to the UNY Conference about what the Oct. 3, 2020 session of Annual Conference will look like as the world continues to try to keep people safe from COVID-19.

The spiritual practice of mandalas
Mandalas by Nancy Dibelius
Throughout the coronavirus pandemic, Upper New York Assistant Director of Vital Congregations for Spiritual Life, the Rev. Nancy Dibelius, has been providing videos of helpful spiritual practices to help deepen people’s relationship to God during this difficult time.
This week, Rev. Dibelius discusses a form of artistic prayer, known as mandalas. In this practice, Rev. Dibelius reads a passage from the Bible and as you reflect on the passage, you draw a mandala, which is circular with images within it—the circle representing wholeness and unity. Inspiring stories like this are happening around the world in the United Methodist Church. Young United Methodists in Zimbabwe and Congo are building new businesses or adapting old ones to make ends meet during the COVID-19 pandemic.
